What is it :

Any dentist member can register his/her continuing education hours to be recognized for 4 different levels : Associate, Active, Fellow and Diplomate. A certificate is given for every level.

How Can You Participate :

Simply register your CE hours on the international website (www.iaortho.org). You need to present cases for the Fellow and Diplomate levels (continue reading to get all the info).

Accepted CE Hours :

All your CE hours are accepted from hands-on courses to orthodontic management courses, diagnostic, dento-facial orthopaedics, orthodontics, TMJ, etc. You just have to regsiter your hours in the Members Only section of the IAO at www.iaortho.org. Every year you will receive a list of your CE hours and know where your stand towards your Fellow or Diplomate.

What Are the Different Levels :

  • Associate Member: the entry level of any new member.
  • Acive Member : requires 150 hours of CE to be registered with the international office. Nominal fees apply for the Certificate delivery.
  • Fellow level : requires 300 hours of CE to be registered with the international office and the presentation of 5 completed orthodontic cases. The cases can be submitted online using the Caseworx software available for free to members. Nominal fees apply for the Certificate delivery. Simply contact the head office for all the submission details.
  • Diplomate level : requires 500 hours of CE to be registered with the international office and the presentation of 10 completed orthodontic cases, 5 of those must have been completed for more than 2 years. The cases can be submitted online using the Caseworx software available for free to members. Nominal fees apply for the Certificate delivery. The Caseworx software is available online under the member’s section at www.iaortho.org under Professional Advanceemnt Program Overview/Caseworx Case Submission Software. There is also a demo version for non-members seeking information. The purpose of the software is to help you structure your cases for presentation.
